In an age where reputations can be destroyed with a few keystrokes, I never imagined I would have to file a federal defamation lawsuit to defend my name against the most vile accusations possible. But that’s exactly what I have done. My name is Eric Neal. I am an author, educator, and recovery-based investigator based in Massachusetts & New Hampshire.
On June 17, 2025, I filed a federal defamation lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts against Valerie McGilvrey, a private investigator from Texas, for an ongoing campaign of lies, harassment, and reputational assault.

This wasn’t something I took lightly. I had hoped the attacks would stop. She had many opportunities to correct the record. I presented evidence, I engaged in dialogue, I waited. But the smears not only continued – they escalated. And what she accused me of wasn’t just personal attacks. They were criminal accusations. And they were absolutely, provably false.
The Nature of the Defamation

Valerie McGilvrey accused me — publicly and repeatedly — of being a pedophile, rapist, producer of child pornography, supporter of sex offenders, abuser, and more. These are not flippant insults. These are felony-level accusations. They were made online through multiple X (formerly Twitter) accounts including her known account @Skipvue and a burner account impersonating me (@the_skiptracer), where she made protected tweets targeting me directly.
She used inflammatory language such as “baby raper,” “CP connoisseur,” and “hardcore predator,” tagging my verified X account, listing my name, face, business, and address to ensure the most damage possible. She stated I was “on the Epstein list,” involved in trafficking, and falsely claimed that pedophilia “runs in my family.” None of these things are remotely true. I have no criminal record. The one time I was arrested in my life, it was dismissed the very next day. Yet Valerie insisted on telling the world I was one of society’s worst monsters.
Why It Matters
This lawsuit is not just about me. It’s about drawing a line in the sand. Because what happens when someone can weaponize social media to brand someone a child predator with no consequences? It sends a message that reputations, livelihoods, and mental health are disposable. That facts don’t matter. That smearing someone you dislike is fair game.

I filed this lawsuit because there have to be consequences for this kind of behavior. Defamation of this magnitude can destroy lives. As someone who works in investigations, I understand the value of evidence. Valerie offered none. Just spite, venom, and repetition. I’ve written a book exposing a real child predator – Jeffrey Sutton – and even contacted the DA’s office with additional evidence on that case. That work is public. Yet Valerie twisted it to claim I was defending him. It’s pure deflection, and frankly, projection.
She also repeated claims my father was convicted for distribution of CP. While unfortunately, there was a charge, luckily there was no conviction. However, Valerie continues to spout this lie out repeatedly and blame me for his actions. Not once have I ever blamed Valerie for another person’s actions – only her own.
Key Points From the Lawsuit
- Valerie McGilvrey is a licensed private investigator. Her accusations carry more perceived weight because of her professional title.
- She has made these claims on multiple platforms and under multiple aliases, some of which impersonate my identity.
- She used graphic, false, criminal language, and framed her comments as if they were based on insider knowledge.
- The Federal defamation lawsuit includes counts for defamation per se and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
- Damages sought total $500,000, along with a permanent injunction for her to remove defamatory content.
Why I Need Support

Preparing a federal lawsuit takes time, energy, and money. While I’m filing pro se (representing myself), there are still costs involved: filing fees, process server fees, time spent away from my business, etc. I’m grateful to those who have already supported this effort. I’m not asking for sympathy — I’m asking for solidarity. If you want to help send a message that these kinds of false accusations cannot stand, your support is deeply appreciated.
Note: I would recommend you donate anonymously, so that Valerie can’t lash out against you.
This isn’t about vengeance. This is about truth. It’s about drawing the line at the most serious type of false claim someone can make. If we allow this to go unchecked, then we normalize the idea that anyone can be destroyed with a lie. That’s not a world I want to live in. And if you’re reading this, I hope you don’t either.
Thank you for reading and I’ll keep everyone updated!

How come you don’t talk about the accusations you flung at Valerie? Don’t act all innocent you are just as much at fault for harassing her, I have seen your post, tweets and emails. GOOD LUCK on that defamation suit you need it.
Actually I don’t need luck and I’ve been harassed by her for years. I have talked about it at length and provided full evidence with sources, something she doesn’t do. It’s 90% narrative with her and 10% facts, at best. Rather than make false accusations, why don’t you provide a specific example of something untrue I said and I’ll be happy to show you the source of information. I’ll wait.
Also, why are you going under the name of Rhonda Jones when your name is Christie Rawson? You’re very deceptive, just like Valerie.
Eric Neal has real issues. Eric is never transparent lol and I mean never, his latest addition to this blog is about me. It’s amazing the stupidity that this Eric Neil displays publicly he’s very mad that I posted his address which was on a court document which is available to anyone in the public but yet he uses court documents uses FOIA and post them online themselves. You can’t get any stupider than this idiot. Now he’s gonna read this and he won’t post it but he’s got a surprise coming and he’s gonna have to explain it.
On December 5, 2025, he was brought to court because he was harassing a woman about picture she had of cheerleaders young cheerleaders. For some reason, Eric believes that he sets the standards for what’s appropriate and what’s not. The judge saw right room in a protection order was put on him from any further harassment. He’s gonna have one coming from me shortly and three other people.
You’re worried about your reputation being tarnished, but yet you post things to tarnish other people’s reputations what the hell is wrong with you? I’m begging you to take me to court.
